Emerson Palmieri’s possible return to Italy is something that has been reported for quite a few months now. The Chelsea fullback has been linked to a few clubs, and it’s Inter Milan whohave repeatedly been pushed forward as the likeliest destination.
Now a totally different scenario is presented by Corriere del Mezzogiorno, as they claim that Napoli could join the race for the player.
The outlet admits that Palmieri has already agreed to join Inter Milan, as he accepted a salary of €2.2m per season at the Nerazzurri.
However, it’s pointed out that there’s no certainty about Antonio Conte’s future at the club, and that has delayed the negotiations for now.
With Napoli now looking for a left-back, Palmieri is seen as one of the options on the table, along with Real Madrid’s Sergio Reguilon.
Corriere del Mezzogiorno report Chelsea are demanding €25m for the Brazilian’s transfer, but could end up letting him go for €20m plus bonuses.
It’s said that Palmieri is ‘open’ to a salary of €3m per season, so Napoli would have a chance in case the deal with Inter Milan really collapses.
