Earlier this month, Tuttomercatoweb claimed that Wolves can return for Lazio goalkeeper Christos Mandas in January after they failed to sign him in the summer.
The Greek stopper is yet to play once in Serie A this season. As a result Lazio are facing a dilemma.
Lazio faced a transfer ban due to financial issues in the summer transfer window. This has impacted their season, as Maurizio Sarri’s side have lost three times in four games. They’re also facing a raft of injury issues, amidst a need to sell at least one player in January.
Il Messaggero note that Mandas is seen as one of the players who is likely to depart and generate capital gain, but he is yet to play in the campaign and this has led to his value falling.
This is an issue for Lazio, who want to earn as much as possible from his exit. Amidst interest from Wolves, they are facing a dilemma over whether to just use him.
He remains second-choice due to Sarri’s preference for Ivan Provedel but the situation will have to change if Mandas’ valuation has to grow.
In a nutshell, Lazio are in a desperate situation on and off the pitch.
They want Wolves to sign the 24-year-old but for that to happen, the Greece international has to play enough or Vitor Pereira’s side can look at other options.
