Derby County are ‘millimetres’ away from signing Borussia Mönchengladbach’s Oscar Fraulo.

That’s according to Tipsbladet, who cover the latest on Derby County’s efforts to secure this operation for the winter market.

The Bundesliga side signed the midfielder from Midtjylland in June 2022 and sent him on loan to FC Utrecht a year later. He spent the last two seasons on loan with the Eredivisie side.

At the start of this year, Derby County wanted the 22-year-old to cut short his loan stay in the Netherlands. This never materialised as he was then not keen on joining the English club.

The Championship side have now been presented with a fresh opportunity and are closer to securing his services in January.

It’s claimed John Eustace’s have agreed with Mönchengladbach to sign the Dane, without the report mentioning the transfer fee. The two clubs would need to iron out details and once it’s finalised, Fraulo will sign a contract with the Rams until 2029. There’s no mention of his medical.

Tipsbladet say Fraulo has been considered a ‘huge talent throughout his career’. He was a key part of the Denmark squad at the U21 Euros.
