Last summer, Torino signed Nikola Vlašić from West Ham United on a loan deal with an option to buy.
The attacking midfielder’s future remains uncertain and his agent admitted on Monday that “everything is open” as it’s still to be determined where he’ll play next season.
Tuttosport now state the €13m buying option for the West Ham player will expire on June 10th.
The 25-year-old impressed in the first half of the season but he’s had mixed performances this year. He’s managed five goals and six assists from 34 games for the Italian club.
Torino are of the belief the Croatia international could perform well next season, if he were to continue with them. Their leaders and technical staff are open to his stay but not for €13m.
The Serie A side buying Vlašić ‘depends on the discount’ West Ham will provide. This is something they intend to ask the Hammers because they want to pay less than €9m.
If there’s no agreement, Torino will push to extend his loan deal for one more season. To do this, they would take advantage of Vlašić’s desire to not return to West Ham.
Vlašić’s situation will be clarified soon as the report states ‘answers will arrive by the end of this month’.
West Ham’s answer should obviously be negative. The €13m clause is a reasonable price and there will likely be other takers willing to pay more than €9m.
