If there is one transfer that Rangers and Phillips Clement managed to get right this summer, it’s the loan of Abdallah Sima from Brighton.
The winger arrived for the season over the summer at Ibrox, and has been nothing short of spectacular for the Scottish Premiership side, scoring 15 goals in 33 appearances, as well as helping out with two assists.
The player has been a success story for his agency, Premium Sports Management, who have a history of plucking talent from Senegal and helping them succeed in Europe, Bathie Touré, who works on the African side of matters, spoke to WiwSport of the Rangers star and his future.
Seen as the prime example of what the project put in place by the agency can achieve, Simah can be an example to many young players in his home country.
As for his time at Rangers, Touré said: “At the latest news, Abdallah Sima is doing well with Rangers. He feels comfortable there, likes the atmosphere there and wants to play there. That’s definitely what he wants. We’ll have to wait and see until the end of his loan.”
There is no option to buy in the deal struck between Rangers and Brighton, meaning there is a very strong chance that the winger will return to the south of England once his loan comes to an end.
Whether the Ibrox side can renew their deal with the Seagulls remains to be seen, but it will likely be a lot harder, especially if other clubs come sniffing for a player whose contract ends in 2025.
