Making it clear he wants to return to Italy since he isn’t playing under Maurizio Sarri, Davide Zappacosta is seeing a potential move to Lazio being blocked by the Blues.
The right-back, who has only played 18 minutes of Premier League football since the start of the season, has been a target for the Serie A side since midway through the first half of the campaign, and while it all looked very promising at one point, Chelsea are currently asking for too much.
The Blues’ demands of €18m for loan and future purchase, as reported by Il Tempo, are a little bit too high for Claudio Lotito and co.
The loan with obligation to buy deal (around €7m) taking Riza Durmisi to Celta could certainly help in the long run, but the Italians are still thinking, and Zappacosta’s agent, Alessandro Lucci, is currently said to be in London to try and get something Chelsea to lower their demands.
As things stand, Lazio aren’t expected to move forward if the price remains the same, and Igli Tare, their director of football, is currently focusing on alternatives, most likely until he hears back from the defender’s representative regarding the Blues’ reply.
