Junior Firpo ‘will go to Leeds United’, report Sport on Monday afternoon.

The Catalan newspaper state ‘white smoke’ is just around the corner, and unless there’s a last minute issue, Firpo will be moving to the Premier League club.

Everything will be signed between the fullback and Leeds once the last ‘fringes’ of the deal have been settled between the English side and Barcelona.

AC Milan was initially Firpo’s preferred destination, after he was linked with a number of Premier League clubs in recent months. Last week saw Leeds brought into the picture by the Catalan press, yet even then the Rossoneri were said to be favourites to get a deal done.

Marcelo Bielsa has managed to change that, according to Sport, with it explained the manager has personally convinced Firpo, with some help from Victor Orta, that a move to Leeds United is the best option for his career.

Barcelona expect to receive around €15m from the transfer.
