According to a claim in the Turkish media, Kasımpaşa defender Yasin Özcan is nearing a transfer to Aston Villa.

The youngster has been linked with a move to the Premier League side in recent weeks, and at the weekend it was reported he would be heading to England this week to complete his transfer.

Turkiye Gazetesi this morning report on the latest details regarding Özcan’s proposed transfer to Aston Villa and they say he’s travelling to England today for a medical with the Premier League club.

It’s claimed a transfer fee of €7m has been agreed between the two clubs, but there is no indication of the length of contract Villa have offered. Aston Villa have agreed to pay Kasımpaşa 20% of the profit from his future sale.

The Turkish media outlet also report that once the deal has been sealed the player will be sent back to the Istanbul side, where he will remain on loan for the remainder of the season.

Özcan, has made 16 appearances for the Turkish side in the Super Lig this season, providing one assist. The 18-year-old is contracted to Kasımpaşa until June 2029
