RB Salzburg defender Oumar Solet has been released from training for ‘contract negotiations’ as West Ham United continue to circle him.

That’s according to Salzburger Nachrichten, who say the defender remains a possible exit for the Austrian club.

The newspaper explains that Salzburg sporting director Bernhard Seonbuchner is currently busy working on the squad as he looks to bounce back from finishing second in the league last season.

It’s already been a busy summer for him as Strahinja Pavlović has left to join AC Milan while Luka Sučić and Oumar Solet have also been linked with moves away.

The latter is reportedly on West Ham’s radar as they continue their rebuild under Julen Lopetegui and focus on signing new defenders in particular.

Now he has been released from training by Salzburg in the last few days for ‘contract negotiations’.

“Yes, there are a few rumours that we will not comment on. There are certainly a few things moving, but there is nothing major to report in terms of transfers at the moment,” Seonbuchner commented when asked about rumours.

Now usually players being pulled out of training is a hint at an imminent move elsewhere, but it remains to be seen if West Ham are close to Solet at this point.
