Sergiño Dest to Manchester United continues to be a topic of interest for the Catalan media, and Sport now come with a claim which sounds rather promising for the Premier League club.
According to their latest report, the defender ‘has opted’ to sign for the English club, and has informed Barcelona of his decision. Out of Xavi Hernandez’s plans at the Camp Nou, Dest has been seen as a player who could bring in some money and someone they could get off the wage bill.
However, Sport no longer believe the move would be quite as beneficial for Barcelona as was initially hoped for. They say unless there’s a late surprise, should Manchester United and the Blaugrana reach an agreement there will be no fee paid, and the Catalan club will even have to continue paying a percentage of the player’s wages.
That would mean a loan, without a loan fee, and the Red Devils just paying a proportion of salary.
There is no complete agreement between the cubs at this stage, yet the slant is that if Manchester United do strike a deal then it will be one which looks stacked in their favour.
