After starting in the first four matches, Ricardo Rodríguez lost his place in AC Milan’s starting line-up to their summer signing Theo Hernandez.
The Switzerland international spoke to AZ and admitted his situation at the San Siro could change after stressing he ‘wants to play’.
Two days ago, Blick reported Everton are one of the interested parties in the Milan defender and his days with the Italian club are ‘probably numbered’, unless his situation changes under new manager Stefano Pioli.
Calciomercato now brings the latest update and claims there are three clubs chasing the left-back, with Everton among them.
The Italian website states Borussia Dortmund and Schalke were after the defender in the summer and have still maintained their interest in the 27-year-old. The Toffees have now joined the two Bundesliga clubs in chasing the fullback.
It’s claimed the Merseyside club is looking to strengthen the left side of their defence and Rodríguez’s name is included in the list of players followed by Everton for January.
Marco Silva has the services of Lucas Digne and Leighton Baines as the two left-backs in the squad. The latter’s contract at Goodison Park runs out in 2020 and if Everton end up signing Rodríguez, he could take Baines’ place in the squad.
