It had been a few months since Tottenham Hotspur had last been linked to Inter Milan defender Alessandro Bastoni, and the rumours are now brought back by the Italian media.

Calcio Mercato features a story claiming that as Antonio Conte looks for a left-footed centre-back for Spurs, the Nerazzurri player shows up as an option in the market.

Even though there’s ‘nothing concrete’ in this chase yet, the manager is said to be ‘probing the hypothesis of re-embracing one of his pupils’, as the 22-year-old had already played with him at Inter Milan.

The website points out that money is never a problem for Premier League clubs, and with the Serie A side in need of sales, that’s a move which would make sense for both clubs.

It’s said Bastoni has ‘several admirers’ in England, and that’s why Inter Milan had been thinking of giving him a new contract extension just so they could be in a more favourable position in the transfer window.

It turns out only Tottenham are highlighted among the interested sides, with Calcio Mercato writing there’s ‘strong approval’ from Spurs for the signing, with Paratici ‘considering the idea’ of making more purchases in Italy.
