Southampton ‘like’ Juventus youngster Koni de Winter, who has been ‘followed closely’ by the Premier League side this season.
That’s according to Tuttomercatoweb, who say the defender ‘has no shortage of offers’ ahead of the summer transfer window.
De Winter is currently on loan at Italian side Empoli, having joined them from Juventus’ Next Gen set up last year on a season long loan deal.
He’s made 12 appearances for the club in Serie A this season and that has seemingly earned him plenty of attention in the Premier League.
Southampton have been linked for several months, with the latest report stating that Southampton are one of three clubs interested in him and that there could be a definitive sale in the summer.
TMW pick up on that thread today and explain that the player has plenty of offers on the table should he leave Juventus at the end of the season.
The Italian giants would be more than happy to sell if they receive ‘a good offer’ for him and Southampton are one of the sides who have ‘viewed’ him in recent weeks.
His performances have been ‘followed closely’ by the Saints this season as they are ‘deeply attentive’ to young players, as shown by their transfer business last summer.
Whether De Winter would be interested in the move isn’t made clear but the interest from the Saints is certainly there and something to keep an eye on in the coming months.
