A couple of days ago, we relayed an exclusive from TuttoMercatoWeb claiming that Inter had made their first move for Emerson Palmieri.
The Chelsea defender has been pushed to one side by Frank Lampard since the beginning of the calendar year, and with Antonio Conte a big fan of what he can offer down the left-hand side, the Italy international has been highlighted as a summer target by the Serie A side.
The Italian website said a bid of €20m + €5m had been presented to Chelsea, who were hoping for a bit more.
However, there was some optimism a deal could be reached, and that’s pushed forward by Gazzetta dello Sport on Wednesday too.
They claim Inter aren’t even looking at other names for the role now, solely focusing on Palmieri, and the club are ‘waiting for the right time to enter in negotiations’, which we’re guessing would involve Granovskaia trying to get a bit more money from them.
Emerson, down his end, has ‘already said yes’ to a move to team up with Conte once more, and all this shows a ‘clear sign’ that there’s a ‘good’ feeling on the deal going through down the line.
