The Italian media are optimistic about AC Milan signing Tottenham Hotspur’s Emerson Royal this summer.
Two days ago, Calciomercato stated the north London club are adamant they want €15m plus bonuses for the right-back.
A fresh report from Calciomercato claims the Serie A side are in the ‘last corner’ before they seal the deal for the Tottenham player.
It’s claimed the Rossoneri have scheduled a conference call with Spurs on Wednesday morning, to iron out the final details of the deal. The website adds this is the ‘necessary step’ before starting to work on the paperwork related to the operation.
The report states Milan have agreed to pay €15m in fixed fee and €2m in bonuses instead of €3m requested by Ange Postecoglou’s side.
Emerson has been pushing to secure a move to the San Siro and his wish will be fulfilled soon. If the deal goes through, he’ll sign a four/five-year deal, worth €3m per year.
Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio claims the distance between Milan and Tottenham has narrowed down to less than a million euros.
He further adds Paulo Fonseca’s side are expected to ‘close in the next few hours’, to take the Brazilian away from the Premier League side.
Gazzetta dello Sport also claim today is the key day for Milan to unblock the deal. There will be a new contact between the two clubs, which could be ‘decisive’ for the Italian club to sign him for €15m plus bonuses.
The Italian club have employed a ‘wait and see’ strategy’ to sign him and believe this will pay off.
Gazzetta say it’s down to Tottenham to ‘give the positive response’, and whether they’ll provide one today needs to be seen.
