Aston Villa allowed Oliwier Zych to join Raków Częstochowa on a season-long loan deal last July.
The Premier League side let the goalkeeper move to Poland to get regular minutes. It didn’t happen immediately, and the Villans were initially unhappy with his situation.
Last August, we covered claims from Poland that both Aston Villa and the 21-year-old considered terminating his loan with Raków Częstochowa that month.
Zych and/or Aston Villa decided against taking this step, and he’s still at the Polish club. The stopper had to wait until October to make his debut. Since then, he’s been the No.1 for Raków Częstochowa, keeping five clean sheets and conceding 10 goals from 13 matches.
Meczyki.pl have a report on the Aston Villa owned player. They state a ‘decision has already been made’ on where he’ll play in the second half of this season.
According to them, there was a meeting between Unai Emery’s side and the Ekstraklasa club recently over the Poland U21 international’s immediate future.
The outlet state Aston Villa see ‘no reason’ why the goalkeeper should not continue where he is in the coming months and compete with Raków Częstochowa. In other words, Zych will return to Villa Park after this season.
