Last week, the Brazilian media reported Willian’s lack of game time at Chelsea could end up edging him out of the club.
The player would be unhappy with the few minutes he’s been getting lately, and doesn’t think he’ll have much of a future under Antonio Conte.
Now despite starting against Swansea City on Wednesday, the player returned to the bench and only played for 12 minutes in the win over Newcastle United.
This situation has clearly been bothering the midfielder , and that’s why ESPN Brasil asked him about it after the match.
“The desire, I think of every player, is to play, right?” Willian told ESPN. “The most games I can play, I have the desire to play. But the decision is not ours, right? We have to respect the decision that comes from above, the manager’s decision. Who opts for some formation, or other players as well.
“Not only respect the manager, but respect our teammates as well, who are on the pitch. But I think that whenever I come in, starting, or to play 10 or 5 minutes, I always try to do my best.”
Despite the rumours of a departure, there haven’t been many reports on who could be signing the Chelsea star in case of a move.
The Brazilian has recently been linked to Barcelona, as his agents would be offering him as an alternative for Philippe Coutinho. But no reports of talks or offers have been made lately.
