For the past few weeks or so, various claims from Italy have pushed Fiorentina’s Sofyan Amrabat towards Manchester United, and that continues today.
La Repubblica have a report on the Serie A side’s potential transfer business and the focus is on the midfielder. Their title states Manchester United are set to ‘lunge’ to sign the 26-year-old.
Fiorentina want to sign a new defender and get rid of a few players, and they’ll need some funding in.
The report points out Manchester United have an agreement in place with the Morocco international.
La Repubblica explain that Erik ten Hag’s side continue to be interested in the player and are waiting to carry out a few sales before making a ‘lunge’ to sign him. The Italian club have requested €30m and are not willing to lower the asking price.
La Nazione, relayed by Fiorentina.it, say Manchester United have confirmed their interest in Amrabat but have asked Fiorentina for a few days to carry out the deal.
Manchester United have sold Fred to Fenerbahçe and are working to get rid of Donny van de Beek. This would help them make an offer for the Moroccan, which, as per the report, should arrive in the next few days.
The outlet remains confident the ‘deal will be made’ for Amrabat but the Red Devils ‘ask for time’. He’s also keen to join Ten Hag’s side and isn’t considering any other options for now.
With all parties wanting to conclude the operation, it’s now down to Manchester United to make an offer that convinces Fiorentina.
