RWD Molenbeek are still working on a deal for Crystal Palace’s Jake O’Brien, with his future at Selhurst Park yet to be decided.
That’s according to DH Net, who say a deal for the youngster is ‘still on the table’ despite a lack of progress following initial reports.
A report ten days ago stated that RWD Molenbeek had made signing O’Brien from Crystal Palace this summer a priority as they look to bolster their squad in this window.
Despite that there has been no update since that point, with the defender remaining a part of the Eagles’ pre-season squad and even scoring in the recent loss to Colombian champions Millionarios FC.
The ‘file is still on the table’ for the Belgian club, according to DH, who say they are still exploring a move for the 22-year-old this summer.
They’ve been busy adding to other positions already, with striker Makhtar Gueye and midfielder Florent Sanchez set to undergo medical tests ahead of completing transfers to the club.
The suggestion is once those deals are done, they may focus their efforts on O’Brien, although a deal will be dependent on Roy Hodgson and whether he has plans for the defender at Crystal Palace next season.
