Dani Olmo’s decision to leave Barcelona for Dinamo Zagreb came as a surprise in 2014, but it now looks like paying him dividends.

Less than a year after his move to Croatia, the Spain U21 international broke into the first team. He impressed last term, scoring eight goals and registering six assists in the league.

The front page of today’s edition of Sport claims the La Liga winners are interested in the 20-year-old, while there are other clubs in the race for him, including Manchester United.

It’s claimed the Croatian outfit have already turned down an approach from Valencia and a few other sides, while several clubs are following him closely.

The report mentions the Red Devils, along with Borussia Dortmund and Marseille have ‘knocked’ on Dinamo’s doors for Olmo. The latter’s response was that the offers they received were not to their liking.

The Catalan newspaper also mentions the Premier League side have watched him twice in action in the past few weeks. His preferred position is on the left wing, but he can also feature as a right winger or a playmaker.

Olmo’s contract runs out in 2021 and his employer has recently rejected an offer up to €20m, as reports in Croatia claim Dinamo are demanding €25m for the sale of their player.

With the versatile star attracting interest from clubs across Europe, it would be interested to see who will manage to secure his services. Manchester United being dragged into the equation is no surprise.
