After impressing at Cardiff City last season, Victor Camarasa has not been short on offers to return to the Premier League.
Crystal Palace are particularly keen on the Real Betis midfielder, and Dougie Freedman has even been in Seville trying to get a deal over the line.
He appeared to have been successful with various reports suggesting that the Palace chief had agreed to a loan deal with a purchase option for the Spanish midfielder.
It looked like a move that was ready for completion, but Diario de Sevilla are reporting there’s been a hold-up and it’s all Burnley’s fault.
The newspaper says that Palace were all ready to sign off on a loan deal for Camarasa. They would pay €1.5m for his initial loan and then €13.5m for a permanent sale if certain conditions are met.
They were waiting for Camarasa to arrive in London today to finalise the deal, but then Burnley swooped in at the last minute.
The Clarets have now shown their interest in the midfielder and caused ‘a blockage in the negotiation’. So much so that Camarasa has now gone to Morocco with Betis while they try to sort things out.
Betis remain keen to get rid of Camarasa this summer and will negotiate with both clubs, with Burnley’s sudden interest sure to play into their favour and potentially ramp up the asking price.
