Mexican goalkeeper Fernando Delgado is set to join Crystal Palace on trial next month as he looks to earn a contract in England.

That’s according to Jovenes Futbolistas MX, who have an exclusive on the 16-year-old goalkeeper’s impending switch to England.

They say the goalkeeper, who currently plays for Real Monarchs, the reserve team for MLS side Real Salt Lake playing in the third division of American soccer, will be ‘testing himself’ with Crystal Palace from November 3rd to the 19th.

The Eagles are seemingly keen to take a look at the youngster, who has been earning attention after making his debut for Real Monarchs aged just 15 years old in the USL Championship last year.

He followed that up with his debut in the MLS Next Pro in September, playing 90 minutes in the 4-2 win over Portland 2.

He’s also a permanent fixture in Mexico’s youth ranks, after making his debut for the U17’s in April of this year in the loss to England’s U16s.

It seems he’s now done enough to earn himself attention and Crystal Palace have decided to bring him over to take a closer look.
