Crystal Palace are on the verge of completing their move for Maxence Lacroix, with a deal ‘close to being done’.
That’s according to journalist Florian Plettenberg, who reports personal terms were also agreed between the player and Crystal Palace days ago.
Palace have been targeting the Frenchman for weeks as a replacement for Joachim Andersen, who has left to join Fulham.
The belief was that he was keen on the move to Selhurst Park and a reunion with Oliver Glasner, under whom he enjoyed his best period as a player when they worked together at Wolfsburg.
A report earlier today stated that the two sides had decided to meet in the middle and get a deal done at €18m plus add-ons.
Plettenberg adds that the deal is close to being done as the player has already agreed personal terms. He had already made it clear a contract extension with the Germans would not be happening.
That’s pushed them to accept the deal with Crystal Palace, as they didn’t want to lose the defender on a free next year.
Now he appears to be on his way and to the reunion with Glasner at Crystal Palace that he’s long wanted.
