Last month, we’ve seen Crystal Palace getting linked to Besiktas midfielder Gedson Fernandes.
Reports from Turkey had claimed that the 24-year-old is ‘seriously followed’ by the London side, with his club looking to make €10m with a sale.
It turns out that more on this chase is now said by outlet Star, who speaks of Crystal Palace’s chances of getting this signing done.
The midfielder featured in England between January 2020 and January 2021 when loaned by Benfica to Tottenham, but his move was never made permanent.
Star claims Fernandes ‘wants to return’ to the Premier League and Crystal Palace could offer him that possibility, as the outlet cover the reports which say the Eagles are ‘preparing to make attempts’.
Besiktas spent €6m to sign the player from Benfica last summer, and should now have on the table the great possibility of making some profit just a year later.
He’s now valued by Transfermarkt at €9m, but with a contract running until 2026 with an option for an extra year, the Turkish side can certainly ask for more.
