Tuesday saw claims that Bayern Munich are interested in signing Wilfried Zaha from Crystal Palace.

It made some sense, the Bundesliga champions have been looking for a wide attacking player for some time, and several options in the Premier League and elsewhere have previously caught their eye.

Bild, who have excellent Bayern connections, today report it’s true that there’s been contract between the two clubs. However, they state that talks were only held on a ‘loose’ basis, which is likely because of what the German side wanted to offer.

Bayern had a plan to loan Zaha from Crystal Palace for the second half of the season, something which even Bild say ‘seems impossible’.

Come the summer, their attention will turn to other signings considered to be more of a ‘dream’, such as Manchester City’s Leroy Sane.

To think Crystal Palace would have let their star player leave on loan, as Bayern look for a temporary option, is frankly laughable.
