Marc Guéhi has been a regular for Crystal Palace since he joined them from Chelsea in 2021 and his form this season hasn’t gone unnoticed.
For the past week or so, the centre-back has been linked to a few English clubs and they may potentially face competition from Napoli.
That’s because Il Mattino state the Crystal Palace star has been offered to the Serie A winners.
The Naples club have conceded 18 goals in the league and currently have the worst defensive record [along with AC Milan, Fiorentina and Atalanta] among the top 10 teams.
It’s claimed the 23-year-old has been specifically proposed to the Italian champions to fix their defensive problems. The Premier League side may not be pleased with this.
Il Mattino named the England international when explaining several defensive options Walter Mazzarri’s side could pick from for next month.
They don’t specify if Napoli are keen on signing Guéhi or if Crystal Palace are willing to sanction his exit. He has a deal until 2026 and it is unlikely Roy Hodgson or the Eagles would be open to sanctioning his sale in January.
It’s also possible that Napoli are dragged into the mix to try to put pressure on another interested club who are trying to take Guéhi away from Crystal Palace.
To sum it up, Napoli may find it challenging to agree a deal with Crystal Palace, despite the player supposedly being offered to them, most likely by an intermediary.
