The German media is today sounding very excited that Bayern Munich are about to sign Michael Olise from Crystal Palace.
Newspaper Bild features a story about the Bundesliga side reaching an agreement with the Eagles, with them set to pay €51m to trigger his release clause.
There are some extra expenses, though, with Bayern spending up to €5m in bonus, plus a salary worth €12m per year, which is still to be approved by their board.
Since it will still take some convincing in Germany that Olise is worth that much, Premier League expert Dietman Hamann talks about the qualities the Crystal Palace player can offer.
“Olise is an absolute bombshell! A player for whom the spectators go to the stadium. An absolute attraction for the Bundesliga,” says Dietman Hamann.
Bild point out that Bayern Munich are about to beat the likes of Manchester United, Manchester City, Chelsea and Newcastle United to the signing, which is partly to impress a German audience.
Olise joined Crystal Palace in a €9.3m deal from Reading back in 2021. Despite all his struggles with injuries this season, he still managed to have ten goals and six assists in 19 appearances, and that’s what convinced many clubs to try his signing this summer.
