With the Portuguese League being one of the best markets in Europe, Premier League clubs are always attentive to that, and Crystal Palace are no exception.
Specifically speaking of Porto, the London side were in May linked to their winger Pepê, and a few months later, in September, they were seen scouting the Dragons.
It turns out Crystal Palace were back to the Estádio do Dragão at the weekend, according to Portuguese newspapers A Bola and O Jogo.
None of the reports say who in particular Patrick Vieira’s side had an eye on, although Porto’s win certainly had a lot to be impressed about.
The Dragons won the match 4-1, and a lot of credit goes to winger Galeno, who had two goals and an assist. Other players such as João Mário, Otávio and Taremi also did well and may have drawn the scouts’ attention.
Pepê, who had previously been linked to Crystal Palace, had an average performance. He even created good chances, but none of them had a big impact in the game.
Now, in case the Premier League side got interested in any of those players, it should only be a matter of time until the Portuguese media reveals it.
