Crystal Palace have shown an interest in Getafe goalkeeper David Soria as a replacement for Vincente Guaita, who is being eyed up by the Spanish side if Soria moves to the Premier League.
That’s according to Marca, who say Soria is being eyed up by Palace and Forest this summer but for different reasons.
The Nottinghamshire club are chasing a new number one and Soria is the man they’re looking at, willing to pay to get him in as a replacement for Keylor Navas.
Should that deal happen Getafe would be on the hunt for a new first-choice goalkeeper themselves and Crystal Palace’s Guaita has ‘sounded loud’ as a possible target.
The 36-year-old is in the final year of his deal at Selhurst Park after signing a new contract in January this year so would, presumably, be available on the cheap. If not, Getafe would have the funds from the potential sale of Soria anyway.
But whether he ends up in Nottinghamshire or Crystal Palace remains to be seen as the Eagles are another club that ‘seem to be entering the bidder’ for the goalkeeper according to the newspaper.
So, to quickly sum that up, Getafe are eyeing up Guaita as a replacement for Soria who is being eyed by Crystal Palace and would likely replace Guaita at Selhurst Park.
It’s something to keep an eye on in the coming days and weeks, with a deal there to be done.
