Making it clear he wants to leave Leicester City after just a year there, Boubakary Soumaré has yet to find himself a landing spot.
The midfielder appeared close to AS Monaco, but the Foxes’ demands of €20m put them off, so they went for someone else instead.
Now, Crystal Palace are said to be making a late comeback to try and sign the Leicester player, as Patrick Vieira’s side have been after him for a while, and Nottingham Forest are also keen.
This comes courtesy of Foot Mercato in France, who explain that the Eagles are ‘returning’ for the midfielder, and it’s made clear that Brendan Rodgers’ side ‘only want to hear about a sale this summer’, meaning no loans.
As for Nottingham Forest, they have ‘an eye on his situation’, just like AS Roma, who have turned their attention to him following Georginio Wijnaldum’s recent injury.
Whether Crystal Palace will make a bid remains to be seen, but they appear to have a fair amount of competition for his signing.
Nottingham Forest, for example, haven’t exactly been frugal on the transfer market, and that looks set to continue until the very last day of the window.
Crystal Palace, down their end, are also chasing Ismaila Sarr, whose transfer to Aston Villa fell through at the last minute.
