Crystal Palace are among the clubs interested in KAA Gent defender Jordan Torunarigha this summer as he could prove to be a ‘real bargain’.
That’s according to BILD, who report that Crystal Palace are among the clubs interested in the defender, who looks set to leave the Belgian side in the coming weeks.
The newspaper explain that Torunarigha looks set for the next step in his career, which saw him start as a youngster in Germany and shine for Hertha Berlin before moving to Gent on loan, which was made permanent in July 2022.
He has proven to be a leading player for the club, even winning the Belgian cup with them, and that has not gone unnoticed around Europe.
His rapid development and ‘explosion of performance’ has earned him admirers, with Leeds United already named as suitors but Torino and Crystal Palace also in the mix according to BILD’s information.
The duo have become ‘recently interested’ in the defender, who has recently admitted he would like to make the next step in his career this summer.
The belief is that he may be forced to wait until the European Championship is finished for the window to really get rolling and the interest in him to become concrete, but the fact he is in the final year of his deal with KAA Gent is a major positive for clubs.
That means he should be available for well under his current value of €5m, perhaps even for half, a figure that would make him a ‘real bargain.
