Crystal Palace have identified Royal Charleroi SC’s Cheick Keita as a transfer target for the summer window.
That’s according to Africa Foot, who say Crystal Palace are one of the clubs to have shown interest in the centre-back.
The 21-year-old joined the Belgian club from Stade de Reims in July 2024 and played 15 games in all competitions this season.
Africa Foot state his performances have attracted the interest of clubs across Europe. The list includes the Eagles, Marseille, Stade Brestois, RC Lens, Clermont Foot and KRC Genk.
The French club are showing ‘real interest’ in bringing the defender back to the country but have to be wary about Oliver Glasner’s side and Genk.
Crystal Palace have positioned themselves to sign the defender in the next window. The Premier League club could see Marc Guéhi, who is on the agenda of a few teams, leave at the end of this season.
Faced with the possibility of losing the 24-year-old, Crystal Palace are already looking for his potential replacement. Keita is one of them and his contract lasts until 2027, with an option for another year.
The report states some of the interested clubs have already made contacts over Keita’s potential transfer. It’s not clear whether the list includes Crystal Palace, who would face competition for his signature.
