Christian Benteke scored three goals and registered five assists in 31 league appearances for Crystal Palace last season.

The former Aston Villa striker’s poor form for the Eagles saw him being left out of the Belgium squad for the 2018 World Cup. He made it to Roberto Martinez’s 28-man provisional squad, but was then sent home when it was reduced to 23.

According to the Belgium publication Het Laatste Nieuws, Benteke is a transfer target for a Chinese club. The Premier League club are willing to part ways with the player if they receive a lucrative offer of €30m.

After being shown the exit door at Sunderland, Chris Coleman was appointed as the new manager of Hebei China Fortune. He replaced Manuel Pellegrini at the Chinese Super League club as the Chilean took charge at West Ham United.

HLN claims Coleman would be open to the idea of taking Benteke to China. However, Hebei must let one of their foreign players leave the club, if they are to sign the Palace attacker. The former Wales coach has the services of Hernanes, Gervinho, Javier Mascherano and Ezequiel Lavezzi as the four non-Chinese players in the squad.

The report also mentions the Chinese club have not approached Benteke’s agent about the possibility of signing the striker.
