It’s hard to keep up with the claims on Patrice Evra and Crystal Palace, and just a few hours after Tuttosport published an article saying the defender was losing his ‘lingering doubts’ and therefore likelier to sign, Gazzetta dello Sport completely disagree.

The Italian newspaper say Evra is now ‘seriously considering’ passing up approaches from Crystal Palace and Valencia, and staying at Juventus for the rest of the season. Evra apparently hasn’t yet told the Bianconeri this yet, which may be why Tuttosport, a Turin newspaper, believe he’s set to leave.

Gazzetta dello Sport say that ‘despite the strong pressure’ from Crystal Palace and Valencia, ‘the offers did not convince him’.

It’s unclear if this is a game, trying to get more money from either Juventus, in the form of a pay off, or from Crystal Palace, with a bigger contract, but that wouldn’t seem very like Evra.

The player’s agent Federico Pastorello is very well respected and not really the sort to play games, so maybe Evra hasn’t made up his decision, and everyone is simply guessing.
