Crystal Palace are still in the picture to sign Christian Kouamé, after failing to agree a deal for his signing in the past few windows.

Wolverhampton Wanderers have joined the race for the Fiorentina forward and this has been reported several times by the Italian media in recent months.

TuttoMercatoWeb have a report on the 23-year-old, titled: ‘Kouamé can leave Fiorentina in the summer: two requests for the Ivorian’.

Within the report, it’s stated the attacker’s adventure with La Viola ‘could have come to an end’, after he managed only two goals in 36 matches in all competitions during the 2020/21 season.

The Premier League could be the former Genoa man’s next ‘destination’, where the Eagles and Wolves are named as suitors.

It’s claimed the two English clubs are ‘interested’ in the Ivory Coast international. Wolves’ interest in Kouamé has ‘matured’ in the last two months, while Crystal Palace tried to take the player in previous windows.

TMW now explain Fiorentina’s position ‘could change’ and the attacker’s exit can help them bring in a new player in the same position.

Meanwhile, Kouamé has admitted he would like to play in another country in the future.

“I have heard of it [Wolves rumours] too, but my agent didn’t say anything to me really,” he told BBC Sport Africa.

“I have just put a strange year behind me, I know I could have done more and I am very happy in Florence.

“Everyone welcomed me with open arms; the city is beautiful and my wife and son are here with me. The club will have to tell me they don’t need me anymore, otherwise I am happy to stay. One day in the future I would like to play in another country though.”
