Crystal Palace midfielder Jefferson Lerma could be offered a chance in La Liga, with Celta Vigo putting him on their list.
That’s according to Faro de Vigo. The newspaper cover the Spanish side’s potential business today, with the Crystal Palace man on their list of potential targets.
While Celta Vigo’s management would prefer the window to close now, rather than next Monday, the club remain open to opportunities.
The arrival of Fer Lopez from Wolverhampton Wanderers means Celta are happy with their current squad as it is. There is, though, a fear of losing players at the last minute. That happened last year and could repeat itself.
A central midfielder would be the most likely departure and addition on that front. Crystal Palace’s Jefferson Lerma has been considered. He’s one of several names for the Spanish side should they need to move late on.
His current deal at Crystal Palace expires in the summer. He’s set to leave on a free at that point. That opens up the possibility of a deal for the Eagles to ensure they get a fee, even if it is a small one.
Turkish club have also been keen this month.
Celta could also been seen as a great opportunity by Lerma. It’s a chance to play in Spain at a club seventh in the table, just two points outside the top five. They’re also 11 points outside the bottom three so there’s no worries on that front either.
For now, Celta seem to simply consider him an option. But it might be something to keep an eye on, nonetheless.
