Crystal Palace, Manchester United and Wolverhampton Wanderers have ‘put out feelers’ for youngster Sekou Koné.

That’s according to Frankfurter Rundschau, who report that the Premier League trio are very much in the mix for the 18-year-old despite reports of a move to Austria.

The newspaper reports that Koné was able to earn himself a growing list of suitors with his performances at the U17 World Cup with Mali in the winter.

The defensive midfielder is considered a potential star of the future and the ‘central anchor’ of Mali’s U17 team, who were knocked out by France in the semi-finals of the competition.

He was the ‘linchpin’ of his team, finishing with two assists to his name, and his performances are one of several reasons teams in Europe want to get him.

According to Fussball News’ information, Crystal Palace, Manchester United and Wolverhampton Wanderers, alongside unnamed French clubs, have ‘put out feelers for him’.

A recent report from Mali that claimed Koné’s move to RB Salzburg has already been completed is not something the newspaper have been able to confirm.

The path from his current club, Guidars FC, to Salzburg is a well-trodden one though, with Soumaïla Diabaté, Mamady Diambou, Gaoussou Diakité, Daouda Guindo, Dorgeles Nene and Moussa Yeo already having taken it.

Frankfurter Rundschau say the deal has not been finalised as far as they’re concerned and Crystal Palace, Manchester United and Wolves all still have a chance of getting the midfielder, who is valued at €1.5 to €2m.
