As reported on Tuesday from France, Crystal Palace have decided to concretely go after Ismaïla Sarr, currently at Watford.

The player isn’t particularly interested in playing another season in the Championship, and with the Eagles and Leeds after him, options to return to England’s elite are there.

However, both clubs still need to fully convince Watford, who want to maximise any sale of their star, which Crystal Palace have now found out the hard way.

According to Foot Mercato, Patrick Vieira’s side ‘made an offer of around €25m’ for the Senegalese forward, which the Hornets ‘immediately refused’.

That’s because they ‘expect more’ money before agreeing to let their player leave Vicarage Road.

Whether Crystal Palace agree to up their offer remains to be seen, but it appears the Eagles have decided they want the winger at Selhurst Park this season, and our bet is that another bid will be on its way sooner rather than later.

Sarr has made three appearances for Watford this season, scoring one rather excellent goal and picking up an assist along the way.
