Crystal Palace are among the clubs in the picture for UD Almería’s Srđan Babić, according to a claim from Spain.

The centre-back joined the Spanish club on a loan deal from Red Star Belgrade in 2021 and played a vital role in helping them achieve promotion to La Liga.

Earlier this month, Almería announced they have made the Serbian’s stay permanent and offered him a contract until 2026.

The player’s performances in the Segunda División have caught attention of Crystal Palace, Celta Vigo and Getafe.

AS explain Getafe made an offer of around €4m plus €2m variables, but it was rejected by Almería.

They are not the only club interested in Babić since the Eagles and Celta Vigo have also asked about him. However, neither Patrick Vieira’s side nor Celta have submitted an offer so far.

Almería, for now, are not looking to sell their star, and are referring to his €40m release clause. However, AS state they would ‘naturally accept a much lower figure’, if a proposal satisfies all parties involved.

Babić feels comfortable at the club, who have been promoted to the top flight in Spain, and also in the city. The defender has a contract with them and does not intend to leave Almería, unless there is a ‘succulent offer’, both financially and sporting wise.
