On October 15th, we relayed news from Italy that Crystal Palace have set their sights on  Gabriel Barbosa, who is on loan at Flamengo from Inter Milan until the end of this year.

Later that month, reports from Brazil talked about the Eagles’ efforts in chasing the forward, who has 27 goals and six assists in 33 appearances in 2019.

Apart from Roy Hodgson’s side, Flamengo are also keen on making the 23-year-old’s loan deal permanent.

TuttoMercatoWeb in Italy now claims the Nerazzurri ‘will sell’ the Brazil international in January and they will need €25m to sanction his sale. So far, there has been no agreement between Inter and the South American club as there is a difference of €6m.

Apart from Flamengo, there are many other ‘interested’ clubs and Crystal Palace get a mention in TMW’s report, along with Schalke, Sevilla, Lille and FC Porto. However, none of these clubs have made an offer so far.

Antonio Conte wants his side to bring in a new midfielder and an attacker in January and money raised from Gabriel’s future sale could help Inter further strengthen the squad.
