Crystal Palace, Hull City and Sunderland have all been linked with Soualiho Meite this year. The 23 year old currently plays for Zulte Waregem in Belgium’s Jupiler League and has been building up a list of admirers with his performances.
In February it was reported in Belgium that ‘concrete interest’ from Crystal Palace and Sunderland had been dismissed because the ‘French revelation’ was holding out for a really big club, someone like Manchester United. Hull City were later brought into the equation.
All three English clubs would have to secure Premier League status to have a chance, and for Hull and Sunderland that looks more difficult than for Crystal Palace right now. Meite could then be convinced that he needs a stepping stone to Champions League level, and a spell with a PL club could be the answer.
Meite is on loan at Zulte Waregem from Lille, but the clubs have an agreement which would see a transfer fee split.
