Crystal Palace are ‘going all out’ to secure the signing of Maxence Lacroix but need to seriously up their bid to get Wolfsburg talking.
That’s according to Kicker, who say the German side aren’t interested in a sale after pulling out of the race for Sepp van den Berg.
The newspaper reports that Wolfsburg had been looking at the Liverpool man and would have seen him as a replacement for Lacroix.
However, they’ve now pulled out of the race for the Dutchman and that means they’re not interested in selling Lacroix.
That could be a problem for Crystal Palace, where the Frenchman is ‘very popular’. The growing belief is that he is being targeted as a replacement for Joachim Andersen.
Kicker back this up, stating that Crystal Palace and particularly Oliver Glasner are ‘going all out’ for the defender.
Glasner knows him well after getting the best out of him during their time together at Wolfsburg and wants to work with him at Selhurst Park.
Reports have stated that a €14m bid has been submitted but Kicker say this won’t be enough. In fact, it wouldn’t be enough for a ‘real basis for negotiations’. In other words, Wolfsburg won’t even talk at that price.
What price will get them to the table isn’t mentioned but Crystal Palace are pushing to make the reunion with Glasner happen this summer.
