Ruben Amorim used him in the recent friendly against Celtic but doubts remain.
Even though clubs in France are interested, England is a likelier destination for the player. He would be interested in a move to the Premier League, with Milan’s price tag now €15m to €20m.
The newspaper further report that Crystal Palace have enquired about a deal. His performance during the friendlies is likely to decide his future but him looking elsewhere makes most sense. As a result, Gazzetta state the player has a 20% chance of staying at the San Siro.
Our take: Player needs a fresh start
Fofana needs to work to get his reputation back on track. There are a lot of uncertainties around him and how Amorim’s system will shape up.
A move to Crystal Palace will make a lot of sense for the 27-year-old. The Eagles will play in the Europa League, which is the same as Milan.
Playing alongside someone like Adam Wharton will allow Fofana to play to his strengths. He thrives on carrying the ball forward and the Englishman’s abilities will bring more out of him. Max Allegri’s defensive setup didn’t help him at all.
