Earlier on Monday, Gazzetta dello Sport expressed doubts about AC Milan’s move for Crystal Palace’s Jean-Philippe Mateta.
This was due to medical reasons. The Frenchman’s first medical took place over the weekend but Milan found some problems with a knee. They were looking to reassess his medical and have him undergo another test today.
With time running out, a deal was looking rather doubtful.
Tuttomercatoweb now report that the issues are not restricted just to that.
There is a ‘tug of war’ ongoing over finances. There seems to be no problems between Milan and Crystal Palace. Everything indicates there are issues to be resolved between the Italian side and the striker’s entourage.
That is perhaps why the player’s agent Paul Latouche is in Milan to iron out the problems.
In the meantime, Mateta will undergo a new medical today. A doctor from the Rossoneri will be in London to conduct that but as mentioned, there are bigger problems.
The outlet believe that the more time passes, the more difficult a deal would be. Negative messages are also arriving from the San Siro and Milan can make a final decision about the deal soon.
Juventus had backed out of signing the 28-year-old due to commission demands from his agent. That could well be a problem again, with the medical issues only a side-show.
