Crystal Palace have to make a decisive move to beat Brentford in the race for RC Lens’ Mamadou Sangaré.
That’s according to L’Equipe, who cover Crystal Palace in a report focusing on Brentford’s advances.
The midfielder joined the Ligue 1 side from Rapid Vienna for €5m plus €3m bonuses in August 2025. He impressed in his debut season, managing three goals and four assists from 33 matches.
His performances didn’t go unnoticed in the Premier League. In April, Sport Witness relayed news of Manchester United and Chelsea interest. Last month, we relayed news the Red Devils are preparing an offer, but that didn’t happen.
The duo didn’t make advances, allowing Brentford or the Conference League winners to try and secure his services.
Brentford ahead of Crystal Palace
RC Lens have been discreetly negotiating with English clubs to make a huge profit from the 24-year-old’s sale this summer.
The Mali international is also in advanced talks with Brentford. The newspaper claims the Bees have come close to reaching an agreement for €48m but haven’t finalised anything yet.

The two clubs haven’t finalised the deal yet, as there are some details that need sorting.
