Crystal Palace and Wolverhampton Wanderers have also shown an interest in Brighton and Hove Albion defender Igor Julio this summer.

That’s according to El Diario Vasco, who report that Crystal Palace and Wolves have both ‘picked up the phone’ and spoken to the 27-year-old in recent months.

The newspaper explains that while Real Sociedad continue to explore a move for the Brighton defender, they are aware that they’re not the only suitors.

Julio also has interested parties in the Premier League and both Crystal Palace and Wolves have spoken to him already. Both clubs are looking for a centre-back with his characteristics.

The fear for Real Sociedad is that English sides have ‘plenty of money to burn’ and both clubs could outbid them for the centre-back should they wish to do so.

Crystal Palace and Wolves have already ‘sounded out’ the player and his entourage. A move to Molineux could be of particular interest because of their squad full of Portuguese and Brazilian players.

For now, though, Real Sociedad remain Julio’s first choice. They’ve been the most active for him and he is keen to move away from England. He feels La Liga and Real Sociedad could be a good fit for him.

His closest associates remain confident that the Spanish side will sign him at some point, but Crystal Palace and Wolves have also spoken to the Brighton defender.
