A month ago, Gazzetta dello Sport reported Atalanta, Sassuolo and Cagliari are providing competition to Norwich City in signing Dennis Man from FCSB in Romania.
The 21-year-old’s club teammate Florinel Coman has been offered to Crystal Palace by his representative. This was confirmed by Coman’s agent and the latter is waiting for the Eagles to make a decision on the 22-year-old.
Romanian outlet Sport.ro claims ‘there have been advanced negotiations’ with the Canaries and Roy Hodgson’s side for the two forwards in the last few days.
FCSB owner George Becali is now believed to have changed his stance on the pair.
A potential transfer cannot be concluded, at least, until the Romanian side find out whether or not they will play in the group stages of the Europa League next season.
“Now no players are leaving. Until qualifying is over, no player leaves. No one, neither Coman, nor Man. I’m not even interested in negotiating. Giovanni [Becali, Coman’s agent and George’s cousin] knows this,” George Becali told Antena Sport, as relayed by Sport.ro.
“The main objective is to qualify for the Europa League group stages. Until then, no one’s leaving.”
FCSB have made it to the first qualifying round of the Europa League, and they will have to overcome Armenian side Shirak SC to progress further in the second-tier European competition.
Norwich and Palace would be hoping otherwise, so that it can improve their chances of signing Man and Coman respectively. That said, Becali is known for saying many things and it can often just be a negotiating tactic.
