Crystal Palace are ‘interested’ in a move for Real Madrid striker Borja Mayoral, who the Spanish club could bring back from a loan spell at Roma.

That’s according to AS, who say the striker’s future ‘could change’ in the final days of the summer transfer window.

He’s currently on loan in Italy but belongs to Real Madrid, who could bring him back to Spain after Roma signed two new strikers this summer.

There are a host of clubs interested if they are willing to do that, and one of those ‘in the running’ are Crystal Palace, who have been keen to add a striker to their squad for Patrick Vieira this summer.

Indeed, they are ‘best positioned’ to take him from the Bernabeu and want to bring him in on a year-long loan deal.

There is also interest from Italy, but the newspaper states that ‘it is more likely’ he would be moving to the Premier League than making a return to Serie A.

Mayoral, for his part, is happy in Rome and would like to stay, but he wants regular playing time more than anything else and so will look for a new destination if it is clear he won’t have that under Mourinho.

Regular playing time is something Crystal Palace can certainly offer, which is presumably why they are at the front of the queue at this moment in time.
