Crystal Palace have made a concrete approach to sign Toulouse FC’s Jaydee Canvot this summer.
The Premier League club initially registered their interest earlier this month, and L’Equipe now report their negotiations have come to an end after reaching a positive conclusion.
Toulouse’s current transfer record is €25m, which the French club received from Issa Diop’s sale to West Ham United in 2018. Canvot’s impending move to Crystal Palace will be their new ‘record sale’.
It’s claimed the Ligue 1 club reached an agreement with Crystal Palace on Friday for a €26.5m package.
Aston Villa have also shown interest in the 19-year-old, but their offer, which was much lower, didn’t please Toulouse Olivier Cloarec. He has now managed to secure a better deal with the Eagles.
According to L’Equipe, the defensive midfielder, who can also operate as a centre-back, is set to sign a five-year contract at Selhurst Park.
RMC Sport also report the FA Cup winners have reached an agreement with the French club for €27m including bonuses.
Crystal Palace and the player are now finalising the last details of the agreement, and it’s expected be ironed out soon.
RMC Sport report Canvot has been given permission to travel, and he’s expected in London on Saturday, to carry out a medical and sign his contract with Oliver Glasner’s side.
