Over the past few weeks, we’ve seen an active push on Crystal Palace’s part to try and sign RC Lens’ Cheick Doucouré.

The Mali international appears to have been handpicked by Patrick Vieira to be the new driving force in the Selhurst Park midfield next season, but negotiating with the Ligue 1 side hasn’t been easy.

Previous reports have revealed Doucouré and Crystal Palace have already agreed on personal terms, but the talks with Lens weren’t going as smoothly.

A first offer had been rejected, and now the Eagles are trying again (and again), according to Foot Mercato.

The website reveal that Crystal Palace are ‘accelerating’ their efforts to sign Doucouré, and want to ‘rapidly tie up’ the transfer.

The Premier League have allegedly ‘intensified talks’ with the French side, who are asking for €20m to let their player go.

‘First offers have been rejected’, and for now, ‘no agreement has been found’, especially as ‘other clubs are talking with Lens’.

Something for Crystal Palace to think about if they are to get their man.
